WASHINGTON – As Election Day approaches, Democrat Robert White has continued to expand the coalition of support that carried him to victory in the Democratic Primary for At-Large Councilmember. Labor unions, community groups, and elected officials are coming together in support of a full four-year term for Mr. White to focus on the agenda he has set together with voters.
In endorsing him for the second time this year, The Current Newspapers praised Mr. White for his commitment to curtailing the role of money in politics, expanding early childhood education and vocational training for our students, and protecting and expanding affordable housing.
With their endorsement in the Democratic Primary, Greater Greater Washington lauded Mr. White’s accessibility and robust policy experience, telling their readership, “He will understand how to get things done and involve residents effectively in the political process.”

This July, Mr. White was honored to receive the endorsement of Mayor Muriel Bowser, who announced her full-throated support in front of an audience of over 100 District residents as the General Election season kicked off. She joined Attorney General Karl Racine and Ward 3 Councilmember Mary Cheh, who supported Mr. White throughout the Democratic Primary, as well as the Democratic nominee for D.C. Council in Ward 8, Trayon White.

Mr. White currently serves as interim At-Large Councilmember following his appointment by the D.C. Democratic State Committee to fill the vacant At-Large seat for the remainder of the 2016 legislative session. He is running for a full four-year term.
The General Election will be held on November 8, with early voting centers already open at nine locations across the District of Columbia.
