Dear Neighbors,

Beginning tonight, the Metropolitan Police Department will be enforcing temporary juvenile curfew zones in parts of the Navy Yard and U Street corridors from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM through Sunday evening. These zones are intended to help prevent large youth gatherings and ensure everyone can safely enjoy our neighborhoods.

Under the order, individuals under the age of 18 may not gather in groups of nine or more within the designated areas during those hours unless participating in permitted activities. The District’s existing citywide juvenile curfew from 11:00 PM to 6:00 AM remains in effect.

If you are out this evening, please remain aware of your surroundings and follow guidance from MPD officers. Parents and guardians are encouraged to speak with young people about the curfew and plan accordingly.
