FAAR Bill: Councilmember Robert White Pushes Accountability for Federal Agents in DC

Dear Neighbors,

In recent months, we’ve seen serious concerns about federal overreach in our city and incidents involving federal use of force against DC residents. It’s unacceptable.

DC deserves basic accountability and transparency when federal law enforcement is involved in interactions that impact our community.

That’s why I introduced the Full Accountability in Arrest Reporting (FAAR) Act—an emergency bill that would require MPD officers to:

-Report which federal law enforcement agencies were present at the scene of an MPD arrest

-Document any federal use of force connected to an MPD arrest

-Release MPD body-worn camera footage of any federal use of force, consistent with victim consent requirements.

This is about protecting residents, strengthening transparency, and making sure no one operates in DC without accountability.
